Late 19th C. American gold leaf, applied ornament Louis XV style, spandrel frame.

This frame has a leaf tip and bead motif at the oval sight edge and frieze.
The spandrels have vines, leaves and flowers rising to the swept C-scroll top edges set between high relief corners and centers with more C-scrolls, curling leaves and knobby protrusions. The sides are coves with the back edge “flame” and kidney shapes extending up the sides. Original gilding with bronze paint.
