Late 19th C. American gold leaf, applied ornament cove frame

This frame rises in a steep cove with a cross strap and floral motif to the top edge with laurel leaves and berries and curling leaves and circular medallions at the corners. Cove sides with diamond point design at the back edge. Original gilding. Missing liner, no rabbet.
