Late 19th C. American gold leaf Barbizon frame with applied ornament

Description
This frame has a liner with a flat sight edge, a narrow band with perpendicular scoops and a cove with a flat step above. The convex outer frame has curling leaves on a reeded background with remnants of acanthus leaves at the corners. Cove sides with leaves set in semi-circles. Original gilding.
