Description

This frame has an oval opening with a repeating stylized leaf motif around the sight edge. The spandrel has a leaf and flower design at the corners. The outer frame has leaves rising below an ogee profile rising to the swept top edges. The corners and centers have scrolling leaves, flowers and tendtrils. Undercut cove sides. Foster Brothers were an eminent Boston frame making establishment from 1893 to 1942.
