Early 20th C. American Newcomb Macklin, gilded reverse profile frame in the 17th C. Italian / Spanish style

This frame has a plain bead sight edge rising in a cove to the rippling convex top edge. The profile drops in a curve with applied ornament corners and centers with C-scrolls and undulating foliate shapes with carved, haphazard channels between. A plain bead at the back edge with narrow, flat sides.
Original gold metal leaf finish.
