19th C. Italian carved and applied ornament, gold leaf frame in the Roman Salvator Rossa style

This frame has a cove and flat at the sight edge with a carved ribbon and stick detail and raised narrow flat. The main cove rises to a band of leaves below the curved top edge. Cove sides with lamb’s tongue at the back edge. Original gilding. Size reduced slightly from the original.

Rabbet Size: 24 7/8 x 31 15/16

Moulding Width: 4 7/8
