“This frame has a flat liner with a twisted ribbon then a steep, flat bevel rising to a ribbon and stick motif. The high relief top has large leaves curling over a stick with flower buds between and large projecting acanthus leaves at the corners. A deep cove at the sides and a raised back edge with a lambs tongue motif. Original gilding. A similar frame is found on John Singer Sargent’s painting “”La
